Join us for our quarterly Multilingual Learner Roundtable Meeting where we will receive important updates from Megan Alubicki Flick, the English Learner Consultant at the Connecticut State Department of Education. The Performance Office Team will also provide updates on summative assessment administration and data collection.This meeting is a valuable opportunity for informal networking on a variety of crucial topics including Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE), Newcomers, Accommodations, Effective Practices, Secondary Literacy, service model development, and much more. We will also address any other topics requested by attendees. Occasionally, we will have guest speakers from the TESOL field, as well as representatives from publishing companies and other educational product providers.All Multilingual Learner leaders are encouraged to attend these meetings to stay connected with colleagues across the state, remain informed about current legislation, and share ideas, seek advice, and find solutions to the challenges we face daily in our roles. Introduction to Multilingual Learners   
Are you an educator looking to enhance your teaching toolkit to better support the diverse needs of multilingual learners in your classroom? Join us for our "Introduction To Multilingual Learners" workshop, an engaging and interactive session designed to empower educators who are new to teaching multilingual students with essential knowledge and high-leverage strategies to effectively support the second language acquisition process of your students.Participants will gain an understanding of the stages of second language acquisition and the ways in which students’ cultural and educational backgrounds influence English language acquisition.
