The Importance of Play-Based Learning

Come join us to: *Review the new legislation on play based learning, *Develop a shared understanding for play-based learning at the classroom level, *Build a deeper understanding of the “why” and “how” of play-based learning in pre-k through 3 grade classrooms, *Increase capacity for implementing play-based learning through instructional strategies, *Identify times in the schedule to implement play-based learning, *Increase capacity for guiding students with play-based learning through higher order thinking questions, *Create and implement play plans or provocation, and *Make connections between the CT-ELDS/CT Core Standards and play-based learning. Workshop will run 9:00-2:00, and then EdAdvance staff will be available for an extended work session from 2:00-3:00. Cost includes breakfast and lunch. Appropriate for PreK-3 teachers, administrators and curriculum specialists.
