AUDIENCE: BEFORE & AFTERSCHOOL TEACHERS ( Grades K-6th)Emotional Literacy is an important skill for all children to possess. In order to act upon the social environment in ways that are supportive and rewarding it is first necessary for children to read the affective cues of others and of themselves. Teaching social and emotional skills is a necessity, for all ages, so that problem-solving becomes a natural part of the environment., incorporating conversations around emotions such as anger, sadness, frustration, and happiness allows the opportunity for children to build upon their basic vocabulary of feeling words.INSTRUCTOR: CHRIS BADENHOP
