RESC SDE CT Evaluation: Transforming from Professional Development to Professional Learning: Effective Systems and Structures for Professsional Development and Evaluation Committees (PDECs)
We invite you to join colleagues in exploring the transformational role of Professional Development and Evaluation Committees (PDECs) in supporting leaders, educators, and all school staff to drive learning, growth, and achievement for all. This interactive session will provide participants with knowledge and practical tools to bring back to your PDEC's: • Clarify the roles and responsibilities of a PDEC in this evolving landscape of professional learning, ensuring all education professionals have access to meaningful development opportunities. • Establish systems and structures to create and sustain effective PDECs that align professional learning with district and school goals while addressing the needs of leaders, educators and support staff. • Develop strategies for soliciting input from all educators and school staff to ensure professional learning and evaluation revisions reflect a diverse range of perspectives and experiences. • Measure the impact of professional learning to guide planning, improve professional practices, and enhance evaluation processes for all roles within the school community. To foster meaningful collaboration, we strongly encourage each district to send at least two PDEC members, including one administrator and one educator.
Objectives (appears on the evaluation form):
Participants will leave this interactive session with knowledge and tools to:
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a PDEC in this new era of learning
Incorporate the professional learning standards into practice
