RESC SDE CT Evaluation: Culturally Responsive and Sustainable Practices for Leaders & Educators: Leveraging Evaluation to Foster Inclusion
This interactive, full-day workshop empowers educational leaders and educators with the knowledge and strategies to embed culturally responsive and sustainable practices in their schools to meet the diverse needs of both students and staff. Participants will explore the critical role of cultural responsiveness and sustainability in improving student learning outcomes while also addressing the importance of fostering inclusivity, connection, and belonging among all members of a diverse school staff. The workshop will examine effective leadership and instructional practices that cultivate inclusive school cultures and will include opportunities to meaningfully engage all educators as a school community. Leaders will explore how to align culturally responsive and sustainable practices with educator and leader evaluation systems to provide meaningful, actionable feedback that strengthens belonging for students and staff alike. Join us in shaping a more equitable, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all.
Objectives (appears on the evaluation form):
Participants will: Understand the importance of culturally sustaining practices in the classroom and the impact on student learning; Identify professional practices that demonstrate culturally sustaining educator and leader practices; Align culturally sustaining practices with the educator and leader evaluation and support process; Develop strategies to provide meaningful feedback to increase inclusivity in the school and learning environment.
