Cognitive Coaching Foundation Seminar
10/2/24, 10/9/24, 11/13/24, 11/20/24, 1/8/25, 1/15/25, 1/29/25 & 2/5/25 | 8:30-3:30 pm
This 8-day seminar will support any school leader in the coaching and supervision of teachers as well as developing skills that are applicable in the classroom and in one’s personal life. Cognitive Coaching is a research-based model that capitalizes upon and enhances teachers’ cognitive processes. Outcomes include increased teacher effectiveness, improved communication skills, informed decision-making skills, refinement of good questioning skills, and a reshaped ability to think and resolve problems. Cost includes learning guide.
Objectives
Participants will learn to: Build trust by developing physical and verbal rapport; Utilize 3 mediative maps for planning, reflecting, and problem resolving; Facilitate self-directed learning through reflective questioning; Develop higher levels of efficacy, consciousness, craftsmanship, flexibility, and interdependence; Distinguish 4 support functions: coaching, consulting, collaborating, and evaluating; Practice coaching interactions to differentiate for individual needs; Apply coaching skills that enhance the intellectual processes of performance.
