Restorative Practices for Educators: Introduction to Restorative Practices & Using Circles

Building and maintaining relationships and a safe environment are critical to student success. Day-to-day conflicts arise in schools, at work, home and in our neighborhoods. Restorative Practices teaches us how to prevent and manage conflict in ways that support students, and adults, in making positive changes to their behavior. Participants who attend this two-day workshop will be provided practical ways to use Restorative Practices effectively in schools, the workplace, home, and in a variety of settings and contexts.
Objectives
Participants will:• Gain knowledge of Restorative Practices and its main principles• Understand how Restorative Practices works to prevent issues before they arise• Learn how to use circles as one component of Restorative Practices• Improve their ability to teach students and adults to take responsibility for their own actions
