Ethical Considerations For Recovery Coaches    The REACH Project, Inc. - New York
Ethics trainings are not all created equal. Recovery Coaches need an understanding of ethics that differs from those of clinicians due to their unique role while guiding someone through their own recovery process.Recovery coaching as a peer-to-peer recovery support services has grown exponentially over the past few years. The issue of ethical considerations has been discussed in many circles yet formal training has been lacking for recovery coaches. This 16 hour training addresses this critical need. Based on the widely used Ethical Guidelines for the Delivery of Peer-based Recovery Support Services by William White and PRO-ACT (2007), we designed this training to help coaches, and anyone else working in the peer role, to understand how critical it is to be ethically responsible. Using presentations, small group work, and role play to address many areas including: defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision making, performance enhancement and legal issues. This year we have added an additional half day of training, to allow for more opportunities to practice using relevant scenarios coaches may face on a daily basis.

Recovery coaches need an understanding of ethics that differs from those of clinicians due to their unique role while guiding someone through their own recovery process. Recovery coaching as a peer-to-peer recovery support service has grown exponentially over the past few years. Ethical considerations have been discussed in many circles, yet formal training has been lacking for recovery coaches. This 16-hour training addresses this critical need. Based on the widely used Ethical Guidelines for the Delivery of Peer-based Recovery Support Services by William White and PROACT (2007), we designed this training to help coaches and anyone else working in the peer role, to understand how critical it is to be ethically responsible. Using presentations, small group work, and role play to address many areas, including defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision-making, performance enhancement, and legal issues. This educational program is approved by NAADAC #195293.

Recovery Coaching in Justice Settings    Valley Stream, NY

When the ability to work in the Connecticut Department of Corrections became an option, we eagerly jumped at the chance. People who have faced jail time, incarceration, or any involvement within these settings have multiple barriers to overcome, so why not provide recovery coaches who can assist in navigating those barriers while providing support in their recovery journey? There is no better setting to serve as a recovery coach. Many of our coaches know these systems well. The best resources for navigating these systems are people who have used them. This is where our lived experiences will serve us two-fold. Not only do we get to share what we know, we get to share who we are in recovery. Our goal is to prepare you for working within any of these settings. This educational program is approved by NAADAC #195293.

Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches    Syracuse, NY

Ethics trainings are not all created equal. Based on the widely used Ethical Guidelines for the Delivery of Peer-based Recovery Support Services by William White and PRO-ACT (2007), we designed this training to help coaches and anyone else working in the peer role, to understand how critical it is to be ethically responsible. Using presentations, small group work, and role play to address many areas, including defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision-making, performance enhancement, and legal issues. This educational program is approved by NAADAC #195293
