A Peers Introduction to Mental Health @ Choices

This course is for professional peer recovery workers who wish to expand their knowledge on mental health and wellness to serve better the population they work with by knowing what signs to look for that require a referral to a higher level of care, providing traditional peer support and understand wellness plans and how they differ from recovery plans.

Objectives (appears on the evaluation form):
Define Mental Health v Mental Illness.Identify signs of mental health diagnoses commonly associated with SUDIdentify crisis and the need for crisis de-escalation.Become familiar with WHAM and WRAP plans.Understand the peer recovery support role with comorbidity

You are registered for the Choices A Peers Intro to Mental Health July 10. 2025 from 9:00-4:30pm (EST). Must attend all 6 hours.

Preparation:

To ensure that you receive the full experience of this training please establish an environment that is distraction-free, as much as humanly possible. Folding clothes, washing dishes, or driving are not conducive to learning .

Attendance and video presence for the entire 6 hours is mandatory, and your camera must be on. No exceptions.

* An evaluation survey link will be emailed out toward the end of the training day. Please make sure to complete the survey to receive your certificate of completion.

* Certificates are issued upon completion of the 6 hours training and the evaluation.

* Course handouts will been emailed to you five days before the training start date from Chocies@ChoicesRecoveryTrainings.com. Please locate this in your email.
