Presenter: Sara Castle - Educators will engage in hands-on exploration of mathematical concepts using loose parts play. Participants will construct open-ended, playful activities that foster problem-solving, spatial awareness, and numeracy skills, making the transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten both fun and educational.
Presenter: Natasha Robinson - Educators will design engaging, play-based activities that weave science and social studies into early childhood education. Participants will apply techniques to enhance curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world, effectively bridging the gap between Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Following up on the Keynote Address, participants will come together to brainstorm the challenges of and solutions for incorporating play into preschool and kindergarten learning.
Richard Cohen will speak about and facilitate discussions around the values of hands-on, multi-sensory play for young children, in all of the critical areas of their development, including cognition and learning.
Presenters: Traci Protz and EJ Piccirillo - Educators will discuss approaches for enhancing oral language development through play, storytelling, and interactive activities. Participants will create rich, language-filled play environments that support vocabulary growth, communication skills, and confidence, ensuring a smooth linguistic transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten.
