The Hidden Disease: Gambling Disorder & Peer Support
In Person Nov. 13 & 14; Hope for NH Manchester, NH
Gambling Disorder (GD), known as the Hidden Disease, lacks adequate support and treatment options in the U.S. Those affected often face co-occurring conditions, and while treatments exist for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Mental Illness (MI), GD remains largely unaddressed, with alarming suicide rates among problem gamblers. This course targets peer workers, for peer workers, teaching them to spot red flags, screen for gambling woes, connect folks to the proper care, and uncover those sneaky support gaps for a timely rescue!

Identify two early warning signs of gaming & gambling disorder. Utilize two screening tools available. Help resolve barriers to treatment and support. Implement peer support for GD.
