UPLIFT: Staff & System Wellness in Trauma-Informed Schools

This training focuses on understanding the effects of trauma exposure on school staff and building resilience through effective wellness practices. Participants will define key terms such as secondary trauma, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout, gaining clarity on how these experiences differ and overlap. The session will explore the impact that working with students exposed to trauma can have on staff members' well-being, including emotional, psychological, and physical effects. Participants will also learn strategies and activities to increase their capacity for self-care and co-care, fostering a supportive and sustainable approach to personal and collective wellness. Additionally, the training will identify effective system-wide wellness practices that can mitigate stress and promote a healthy work environment for all staff members within the school community.
