Home Visiting - Moving Early Staying Healthy
Moving Early and Staying Healthy is a comprehensive course designed to equip home visitors with the knowledge and skills to support families in fostering healthy habits for early physical activity and nutrition. Through a series of interactive modules, participants will learn to define and promote essential healthy eating habits from pregnancy through the early years of life, analyze the influence of the environment on health, and effectively support breastfeeding mothers. They will gain insights into identifying infant hunger and feeding cues, avoiding overfeeding, and implementing responsive feeding practices to support optimal growth and development. Additionally, participants will explore best practices for introducing solid foods, strategies for eating healthy on a budget, and how cultural and economic factors impact eating behaviors.
Objectives (appears on the evaluation form):
1. Support families to make physically active choices.
2. Assist families to provide safe spaces and opportunities for young children's physical activity, both indoors and out.
3. Understand and help families to support the attainment of major motor milestones for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
