This training focuses on the concepts of empowerment, voice, and choice within trauma-informed schools, emphasizing their critical role in fostering student and staff well-being. Participants will begin by defining these concepts, exploring how they relate to creating a supportive and inclusive school culture. The session will identify and discuss the benefits of integrating empowerment, voice, and choice into school environments, including increased student engagement, improved emotional regulation, and enhanced trust between staff and students. Through the analysis of practical examples and scenarios from other schools, participants will examine successful implementations of these principles, highlighting strategies that have proven effective in various educational contexts. Finally, the training will encourage reflection on potential barriers to implementation, such as systemic constraints or resistance to change, and will provide actionable approaches to overcome these challenges, ensuring the sustainability of trauma-informed practices.
