Regional School District #16 named ProTraxx’s PowerDistrict 2004
|
ProTraxx marked its one year anniversary date of the release of EzTraxx Online, our web-based solution for
professional development management, with a client survey. The survey was designed to assist us in gathering
information about product use, district implementation progress, and customer satisfaction. In addition, it
allowed us to identify an exemplary organization maximizing the numerous features and functionality of the
product, providing support to staff throughout the transition, and optimizing solution benefits at various
levels. With many clients exceeding our expectations of product exploration, utilization of support, and
participation in training, it made the decision to choose just one client a difficult one. However, given
the unique roll-out and champion spirit of the project manager, ProTraxx selected our first PowerDistrict
for 2004 as the Regional School District #16.
Region 16 educates the students of Prospect and Beacon Falls and has been a ProTraxx client since the summer
of 2000 when they began using our standalone application, CEU EzTraxx. Although small in size compared with
neighboring towns, Region 16’s strong technology department, comprehensive and diverse professional development
program, and product knowledge provided a great environment for the district to serve as a beta site for EzTraxx
Online. Their feedback, collaboration, and genuine interest in the initiative provided what ProTraxx needed in
this important new relationship. Following testing, implementation, and training, EzTraxx Online was launched
to over 200 staff members in December 2003, supported by the District’s Technology Director, Bruce Bartmess.
Bruce was instrumental in implementation, planning and release of the product to the staff, ensuring its
success for the district. With Bruce promoting staff participation it wasn’t long before all employees were
previewing the catalog of offerings, enrolling in activities on line, and completing paperless evaluation forms.
The staff utilizes a substantial percentage of the applications functionality, learning new features as they are
released and sharing suggestions to drive future development.
The reduction in time and effort associated with planning, delivering and evaluating professional development
was immediately realized by the Central Office Staff. Lorrie Moraniec, secretary to the Superintendent stated
“. . . the saving of mounds of paperwork, and the user friendliness of the application. . .is enough to sell
this product to anyone who ever had to manually register 200+ people for a series of numerous workshops for
Professional Development Days.”
ProTraxx values our mutually beneficial relationship with Region 16, as well as those developed with all our
clients, and promotes continuous feedback that supports product enhancement. We strive to balance the technical
capabilities of a solution with the practical need of educational organizations to marry the best of both worlds.
As the PowerDistrict for Winter 2004, ProTraxx provided the Region 16 Central Office Staff with a Holiday
Lunch on December 23 catered by Aventura of Waterbury, with desert provided by Sweet Maria’s.
